Future-Yammi

Kitchen robots are increasingly used appliances, both at home and professionally, that facilitate the
professional level, that facilitate the process of meal preparation through a series of programmable steps that
that have to be interspersed with the operator's attention. Considering the central role that the robot can
assume in the kitchen and aiming to simplify the process from the user's point of view, several improvement
identified several opportunities for improvement, at the level of:
- Technological trends associated with digital and the connectivity of the appliance with other
appliances and interaction with the user;
- Information that can be made available by the kitchen robot, at the nutritional level,
food safety and origin of the products used;
- More independent operation capacity, in order to decrease the time needed for the operator's attention
on the part of the operator;
- Remote management that allows reducing post-sales problems.
In this context, the "Future yämmi" project aims to research and develop new advanced technological solutions
for application in kitchen robots, in order to guide their evolution towards innovative and connected
connected equipment, which constitute the main hub of the kitchen, with the implementation of functionalities associated with
solutions:
- Interface and connectivity
- Nutritional intelligence
- Food replenishment and traceability
- Sensing and automation
- Analytical intelligence for equipment management
With this project, the consortium, led by Continente Hipermercados and consisting of PR Metal, JAMSTech,
InnoWave, Fraunhofer and FCT-UNL, intends not only to sustain the research and technological development
associated with the innovations foreseen in the short term, but also to contribute decisively to the vision defined
the future of yämmi, in the sense of anticipating technological trends and the demands of the new
consumers/users, and already explore the potential that may be implemented in the medium and long term.
